Manager, Executive Communications

As manager of executive communications, Jen’s role is to magnify the college’s voice and protect and strengthen its reputation locally, regionally, and nationally through strategic and integrated communications. Jen’s work includes media relations, issues/crisis communications, and writing/editing in support of the president, senior leaders, and the larger marketing and communications strategy.

Background

Jen joined Ursinus College in January 2025 following a 26-year career in communications and marketing at Albright College in Reading, Pa., where she led a team of talented communications professionals. A passionate writer and editor, Jen finds working on a college campus to be inspiring, with a treasure trove of impactful stories around every turn and she has enjoyed serving as a mentor and coach to dozens of students over the years.

Early in her career, Jen worked for an economic development company in Wilmington, Del., and was part of a team that launched the Delaware College of Art Design.

She is an active member of College and University Public Relations and Associated Professionals (CUPRAP) and sole proprietor of JP Communications, offering writing, editing and communication consulting services for nonprofits and small businesses. Having fought it fiercely for years, she is now an Oxford comma convert.
