Our Neuroscience graduates excel in gaining admission to graduate and professional schools.

    Lexie Mastrangelo ’19 is a fifth year graduate student (and doctoral candidate) at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) going for my doctoral degree in School Psychology (Psy.D). Upon graduating next year, I plan to pursue a fellowship in Transplant Psychological services.

Many of our students have been admitted into Ph.D. programs for neuroscience, biomedical sciences or psychology. 

Additionally, other students have pursued a Master’s degree in a wide range of fields and advanced degrees in a health service related field (Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Doctor of Audiology, and Optometry). Finally, several students have gained admission into medical school pursuing either their MD or a DO degree.

Those graduates who have gone immediately into the work force have also done well to gain employment, with many working within the research fields.  Most students working within research have found positions at major research institutions as research assistants and technicians.

A Legacy of Discovery

Ursinus graduate Dr. Gerald Edelman ’50 was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1972 for discovering the chemical structure of antibody molecules. He later studied the origin and nature of consciousness and its relationship to brain function.
