Julianna Berardi

I am a Psychology major, with a in a self-initiated Public Health double major and a Neuroscience minor!

My UC LIVE experience included over 160 hours of time and was a subset of the program called UC Summer Spark, which remotely paired 5 LIVE interns with Pastorius Richardson Mastery Charter School, which serves the Germantown population of Philadelphia. Our roles included student-teaching a specific grade level, rising 7th graders for myself, and mentoring these students in this unprecedented age of COVID-19.

I am so thankful for this experiential learning program as I connected many in-class concepts with real-life events and circumstances. From a psychology standpoint, I found myself referring to Erikson’s psychosocial stages when trying to understand my students’ point-of-view or interests. I thank my Lifespan Development and Childhood Development courses for introducing me to these concepts!
