Theater Scholarship

How to Apply

Students interested in auditioning must:

1. For consideration, students should apply to the college by February 1.
2. Complete the application by February 3. To apply students will login with the username and password sent to them upon application submission to Ursinus. Please check the email address associated with your application.
3. Auditions will be held on campus in March.*

On the Day of Auditions, Applicants are Required to:

• Actors will prepare two contrasting memorized monologues that, combined, do not exceed three minutes.
• Students will submit a written statement of no more than 500 words that addresses the role of theater in their lives as well as their professional and personal goals as these goals relate to theater.
• Be prepared to participate in both an acting workshop taught by Ursinus faculty and a short interview.

Terms of the Scholarship

The scholarship recipient must meet the following two criteria each year for the scholarship to be renewed each year:

• The scholarship recipient will participate (as a performer, crew member, production team member, etc.) in at least one Department-sponsored theater production each semester (exceptions will be made for study abroad experiences).
• The scholarship recipient is expected to major in Theater or double-major in Theater and another discipline. It is easy to double major and graduate within four years without taking extra courses or paying any additional tuition.

Please note that the Theater Scholarship replaces any Ursinus College Scholarship previously offered by Ursinus College.

Students with theater design, theater technology, and/or stage management portfolio should apply for the Performing and Visual Arts Design and Technology (PVDT) Scholarship.
