Specialty Scholarships

All admitted students will be automatically reviewed to receive up to $40,000/year in merit awards. In addition, we offer 15 application-based specialty scholarships for you to pursue your passions!

Deadline extended to February 6!

For specialty scholarship consideration, students should apply to the college by February 1 and complete the required supplemental application(s) by February 6. Students interested in the Abele Scholars Program should apply to the college by December 30 and complete the required supplemental application by January 1.

Students may apply for up to two specialty scholarships.

Most specialty scholarships can be combined with other merit awards; however, the Bomberger Leadership, Creative Writing, Rice, Dance, Music, Theater, and Performing and Visual Arts Design and Technology Scholarships will replace your merit award, and are marked with an asterisk below. Specialty scholarships are awarded to first-year residential students.

Abele Scholars

The $10,000 per year Abele Award provides a path towards a college degree for students with academic potential, significant financial need, and a commitment to community.

Bomberger Leadership Scholarship*

Unlock your future with the Bomberger Leadership Scholarship, covering full tuition, housing, and food! This scholarship is awarded to students who consistently embody intellectual curiosity, purposeful leadership, and a collaborative spirit.

Creative Writing Award*

Are you the next J.D. Salinger? (Insider secret: He also attended Ursinus!) Each year, a creative writer of outstanding originality and potential is awarded $40,000 per year, and the opportunity to stay in Salinger’s room!

Dance Scholarship*

Passionate about dance? Pursue your liberal arts degree with our $40,000 per year Dance Scholarship, awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding artistry and leadership.

Parlee Fellows Scholarship

Now, more than ever, it is essential to consider science from the lens of the common good. Our Parlee Fellows are prepared for leadership positions in science and in the public sphere, and are awarded $8,000 per year.

Rev. Charles Rice Memorial Scholarship*

The Rice Scholarship celebrates students who have transformed their community through bold leadership in diversity, inclusion, and access. If you’re a forward-thinking change-maker, you could receive $35,000 a year for your passion and impact!

Service Leadership Scholars

Our Service Leadership Scholarships are for students with exceptional records of leadership and community service work. Bonner Leaders are awarded $5,000 per year and Scholars in Service are awarded $2,500 per year.

Smith Quest Scholars

Smith Quest Scholars are students that are interested in interfaith learning and development, and are awarded $7,500 per year. While at Ursinus, these students will develop the ability to think critically and lead with purpose.

Social Justice Scholars

Are you passionate about making an impact and enacting change, and possess a fervent desire to better the world around you? Our Social Justice Scholars receive $8,000 per year to do just that!

Ursinus Science Scholars

Highly motivated students with significant financial need interested in biology, chemistry and biochemistry and molecular biology can reach their fullest potential thanks to an award of $8,000 per year.

U-Lead Scholars

Want to change the world? If you’re a natural born leader who has strong ethics and can communicate your beliefs to those around you, you could be our next U-Lead Scholar, and receive $8,000 per year to better the Ursinus community—and beyond.

U-Imagine Ambassadors

Make your entrepreneurial ideas a reality! Our U-Imagine Ambassadors receive $8,000 per year and are given a variety of opportunities to explore and experience innovation.
