Connect for support
If you are a student in recovery, there are lots of options on campus and off campus for you to connect with like-minded peers and get support. Our office can provide Individual and Private Health and Wellbeing Coaching sessions and help get you connected to other resources and individuals in recovery. To sign up as interested and learn more details about recovery support options
A new All-Recovery Meeting: Fridays at 7pm in the Hive started this semester. Reach out to healthpromotion@ursinus.edu to get connected to the 3 students in recovery who started it or simply show up on Fridays to meet them!
Refuge Recovery: Mondays at 7pm at Manor of Hope in Oaks, PA (open)
Unity Recovery hosts daily meetings including Individual All Recovery, Family All Recovery, LGBTQ+ All Recovery, Pregnant and Parenting Mothers, and Harm Reduction meetings.
Reach out to Rev. Betty Wright-Riggins or Bekah Starr in Religious and Spiritual Life to to connect and reflect on the big questions of life.
Anything you do for your overall health and wellness is a step in the right direction in your recovery.
Set up time in your calendar to prioritize moving the body. Take advantage of the pathways and access to the Perkiomen Trail right off campus! Hit up the Fitness Center on campus or join a club on campus like the adventure club that goes hiking, a sports club, or the frisbee club that’s always moving!
Sports and informal recreation activities are also very popular with students in recovery.
The Phoenix is a nationwide movement of group fitness classes in person and online to help build community while growing inner and outer strength. The cost? 48 hours of sobriety. That’s it! Find a class near you today!
Unity Yoga has two locations for their recovery-based yoga practices - Manayunk and Chestnut Hill. They also have a variety of yoga practices outdoor in local parks and on zoom! Check out Mondays from 8pm-9pm - Virtual Yoga Nidra for Recovery or Tuesdays from 11am-12pm for Virtual Recovery Yoga plus many other options!
CPD can assist with figuring our classes, major, internships, and career planning- and can assist if you are returning from a leave of absence. Reach out to find out how they can help you write your resume and cover letter, and reflect on what to include or leave out in regards to your recovery.
There are tons of clubs and organizations on campus so you’re bound to find one that peaks your interest!
Health and wellness-focused events are available to all students. Some specifics to highlight include
What’s the Buzz sessions with rotating wellness topics focusing on developing coping strategies for those with mental and behavioral concerns - every Thursday from 7pm-8pm in the Hive
Reiki Healing is every other Sunday from 7-8pm in the Bears Den
Yoga: There is a free gentle trauma-informed yoga and meditation class every Wednesday from 7-8pm in the Hive.
There is also a vinyasa yoga class every Wednesday at 5:30pm in the berman museum for a cost. And there is a meditation group that meets Mondays at 5pm in the meditation room in the chapel. Look out for yoga and journaling workshops, breathe/stretch/meditate zoom breaks, and more.

Allies of Recovery Training
Ursinus offers to the community a 2-hour Allies of Recovery Training a few times a semester. This training is open to students, faculty, and staff who want to understand substance use disorder and how to best support loved ones. Click HERE for a list of who those who have undergone training.
