Students majoring in American Studies acquire a depth of knowledge through various methods in inquiry. A bachelor’s degree will prepare one for graduate study (in American Studies or the allied disciplines); and for professions such as law, journalism, museum studies, and social work; and (with proper certification) for teaching social studies.
