To register vehicles with Campus Safety, students must have their Ursinus College ID and the vehicle registration.
Unregistered vehicles may be booted or towed at the owner’s expense. The registration fee is $175 per vehicle (including motorcycles). If approved, the registration fee will be applied to the student’s account.
Students with a current annual parking permit who finish courses at the college before January 1
st
or are studying abroad for the spring semester, may request a credit by contacting the Parking Division via email at the end of the fall semester. Students who do not bring a vehicle to campus until after January 1
st
will be charged a reduced rate of $90.
Students with valid permits may only park in lots and spaces designated for that permit type. Parking in any other lot, or in spaces not reserved for students, is strictly prohibited and may result in fines, the vehicle being booted or towed, and the revocation of parking privileges.
There are no designated lots for specific residence halls and students are not guaranteed a spot near their residence hall.
First Year students are not permitted to bring a vehicle to campus. Please see below for exceptions to this rule.
Types of Student Parking Permits
Students with vehicles will be issued one of the following parking permits:
This permit is valid in all student lots (excluding commuter student spaces). No other vehicles may park in the Main Street house lots at any time. Parking at most Main Street house locations is limited, and a space is not guaranteed. Students not able to park at a Main Street location are required to park in the 9th Ave/West lot.
Main Street Permit Lottery
Parking for the Main Street Village is extremely limited and priority for Main Street permits will be given to seniors and juniors. All sophomores living on Main Street will be given a lottery number and will be assigned a Main Street or Main Campus permit based on the remaining number of Main Street permits available after the priority registration deadline. Additional information regarding the lottery will be emailed to students by August 4, 2023.
Students who wish to purchase a Main Street permit must register and pay for a parking permit no later than Friday, August 18, 2023 at 5:00pm EST. All students who register for a Main Street permit after this date will be issued a Main Campus permit.
Students who live in Clamer Hall and 201 9th Avenue are exempt from this lottery and are eligible to purchase a Main Street permit at any time.
Students living on Main Street who were not able to obtain a Main Street permit will be able to purchase a Main Campus permit and park in any student space in the 9th Ave/West lot. Students arriving back to campus late at night or leaving early in the morning, are welcome to request a safety escort to/from their residence hall at any time.
This permit will be available to all upper-class students living in Reimert, Richter/North, New, BWC, BPS, and those students in the Main Street Village who were not able to purchase a limited Main Street permit. This permit is only valid in student spaces in the following lots: 9th Ave Lot, Ritter Lot, Wismer Lot spaces (excluding commuter student spaces) near Richter/North, and the gravel lots.
First-year students are not permitted to bring a vehicle to campus (see below for limited exceptions). Pre-approved first year students must park in the 9
th
Ave parking lot Rows E-J in while lined spaces only. First-year students may not park in any other location on campus at any time. First-year students must submit documentation as instructed on the parking permit application.
All applications will be reviewed by the parking committee and all decisions are final. Students may purchase a temporary parking permit while waiting for approval from the parking committee. All temporary permit fees will be applied towards the cost of an annual fee if approved. Parking for first-year students is limited. Exceptions for first year parking permits include:

Employment: The employment must be required to support the student in continuing their education at Ursinus College. Students must work a minimum of 10 hours per week in an off-campus job greater than 2 miles from campus. Employment must be no further than a 30 minute drive from campus (exceptions may apply). “Gig economy” jobs (e.g. Uber, Doordash) do not qualify as employment under this exemption.
Documentation for proof of employment is required and eligible documents are determined by the Executive Director of Campus Safety and Emergency Preparedness. Students must submit:
a recent paystub (please redact any protected information - e.g. social security number - before submitting) showing the number of hours worked,
a current schedule showing the required number of hours, and
a letter from their direct supervisor, with contact information included, confirming their employment and number of scheduled hours.
Medical Appointments: Students must submit documentation that they have reoccurring off-campus medical appointments other necessary accommodations.

Students with temporary reoccurring appointments (e.g., physical therapy for an injury that lasts for a short period of time) may be issued a temporary parking permit valid for the length of time they are receiving treatment. Medical permit waivers are reviewed through the Office of Disability and Access.
Other: First year students may be allowed to purchase a parking permit if they have other extenuating circumstances. Applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and documentation may be required.
All commuter students, regardless of class year, are welcome to purchase a Commuter Student permit. Commuter students may park in the new commuter student spaces located in the Wismer parking lot. They may also park in any student space in the 9th Ave/West lot. A map of all parking lots on campus can be found here.
Students who only plan to have a vehicle on campus for a short time, may register for a temporary parking permit. Permits are $10 per week for those who have not purchased an annual parking permit. The cost is $5 per week for students who have purchased an annual permit and are using a rental car or borrowed vehicle in the event their vehicle is being repaired.
First-year students who need to bring a car to campus for a limited time, are restricted to three weeks per semester.
