My Internship Experience

I am currently interning at Renewal House located in Upstate New York. Renewal House is an advocacy, support, and resource center for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

My internship experience includes becoming a mandated reporter, training for receiving and managing hotline calls, as well as scheduling appointments for various services (Orders of Protection, Emotional Support Services, Department of Social Services mandated classes, etc.). Additionally, I have completed the necessary training and background clearance to provide child-care for clients who come in with young children.

This has been an extremely fulfilling experience so far. I have appreciated the real world, hands-on aspect of this experience, and I believe it will not only contribute to my academic prospects but also my future career.
