Looking Back

When I first came to Ursinus, I was curious about the intersections of human behavior, sports, and natural sciences. I used the core curriculum to explore several disciplines as well as highly-reflective coursework, like CIE, and I eventually declared a major in biology and minor in coaching my sophomore year. That same year I began working in the Office of Admission and Residence Life.

Hands-On Experiences

At Ursinus, through the Office of Career and Professional Development (CPD), I learned about effective networking. I made connections that led to an internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. There, I not only shadowed doctors and researchers in orthopedic medicine but also found the most meaningful experiences with senior administrators in the department.

During my time at Ursinus, I was also selected for the American Physiology Society’s Undergraduate Research Fellowship. With the help of my research advisor, Dr. Bailey, I explored how exercise effects heart muscle cell structure and performance.

After Ursinus

Many experiences at Ursinus helped shape my life, including mentorship I received from faculty and staff, helping me to discover my passion for higher education administration. Shortly after graduating, I began working at Ursinus as an admissions counselor and later received the region’s Promising Professional Award.

Eventually, I was is accepted into Ivy League graduate program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. I built upon my analytical skills from my undergraduate studies and expanded my professional network at Penn.

Now, I’m the Director of Deferred Enrollment Program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Based in the MBA program, I oversee various research efforts that inform recruitment and manage the talent development program for future business school students.
