Tristan J Ashcroft

Visiting Assistant Professor of Environment & Sustainability

Tristan J. Ashcroft is a lecturer in geology and other Earth-related topics. He has been teaching at Ursinus since 2012. In the summer months he is typically somewhere west of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains looking at rocks, either conducting research or helping to teach at a geology field camp.

Research Interests

Dr. Ashcroft’s research interests are best described as structural geology and tectonics, although under that umbrella the specific topics he investigates often vary from field area to field area as the rocks allow. While he still dabbles in Appalachian geology, he is now primarily a Nevada geologist; and has spent the last decade studying late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic deformation in eastern Nevada.
