Environmental Applications of GIS

Dr. Ashcroft’s research interests are best described as structural geology and tectonics, although under that umbrella the specific topics he investigates often vary from field area to field area as the rocks allow. While he still dabbles in Appalachian geology, he is now primarily a Nevada geologist; and has spent the last decade studying late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic deformation in eastern Nevada.
