Student Megan Burns presented alongside Dr. Lauren Wynne, Assistant Professor of Anthropology.
During the recent 2018 Meeting of the Eastern Sociological Society, held in Baltimore, Maryland, Anthropology and Sociology student, Megan Burns, presented alongside Dr. Lauren Wynne, Assistant Professor of Anthropology. Their paper “What’s in a name? The use and meaning of the natural in the birth experience” explored the ways in which women employ the concept of “the natural” in their narratives of pregnancy and childbirth. In conjunction with sociologist and co-author Dr. Jessica Brown, the paper presentation was part of a mini-conference on reproduction at the ESS Meeting.
