There are several ways to pursue research in the Business and Economics Department.
The Omicron Delta Epsilon Conference
The faculty have a long history of commitment to undergraduate research in business and economics. Since 1991 Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) has sponsored an Undergraduate Business and Economic Conference at Ursinus College. Each spring over 65 students from the tri-state region — including 20 to 25 from Ursinus — present and discuss research.
The Honors Program
Many of the Ursinus students who present at the ODE conference are honors students. Each honors student spends a full academic year working with a faculty member on a research project, examining a wide range of business and economic topics. Several of the honors projects have led to publications in professional and trade journals.
Summer Fellows
Summer Fellows is an eight-week program in which students work with a faculty member on a research project and receive on-campus housing and a stipend.
Independent Research
Many other students will spend a semester focusing on a topic that will develop a deeper understanding of an area of interest. Recently, one student explored the importance of innovation in the video game industry.
