Vanessa Worley
As the Vivarium Manger, I primarily focus on the care of our college’s research animals and the functioning of the vivarium as a whole. I also work as the IACUC administrator, ensuring that students are trained in proper animal research techniques and aiding in the development of protocols. Additionally, I run the adoption program for our retired research axolotls.

Professional Experience
I graduated in 2023 from Ursinus College with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. During my time at Ursinus, I interned and volunteered with AARK Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center, gaining a strong foundation of animal care skills. I also participated in the Biology of the Neotropics course my senior year. After graduating, I began working at Charles River Labs in Horsham as a research technician. There, I performed a wide variety of study tasks, ranging from administering test articles for preclinical trials in model organisms to performing behavioral testing in rats.
Research Interests
As someone that has always been interested in animals and their relationship with humans, biology has been my primary focus throughout my career. From wildlife rehabilitation to preclinical testing, I have worked with a variety of species in a variety of contexts. In my free time, I can be found looking after my menagerie of pets, including, but not limited to, a rabbit, a tarantula, and about 13 bins of isopods.
