Tim Jordan

In my current role, I supervise and support our residential staff and students living on campus at Tufts University. I oversee about 4,100 students and have responsibilities that include student conduct, professional/student selection and training, crisis response, programming, and diversity education efforts. In short, I work on the student experience outside of the classroom to provide both support and educational opportunities. I love what I do because I get to work closely with students, experience a very collaborative office environment, and have responsibilities that change often. I love working at a university due to the inspiring stories from students and events that happen on campus that provide positive energy to the work environment.

Ursinus prepared me well for a dynamic work environment. Like many Ursinus students, I was involved in a lot of different co-curricular activities which taught me to manage my time and be creative. At Ursinus, I developed a partnership with Norristown middle schools that focused on leadership and higher education preparedness which taught me a lot about project and people management. Above all, I think Ursinus taught me how to take agency over my own experience and the groups I was a part of, which has served me well in developing communities and staff teams along the way.
