How I Stay Involved

I am a member of Sankofa Umoja Nia, the Black student organization on campus. While I am not a board member, I assist in brainstorming ideas for events to ensure that Black students, current and incoming, have a safe space to connect with people that look like them. I also aid in videography for the Athletics Department, recording various sports games for broadcast.

Life After Ursinus

Following graduation, I plan to attend graduate school focusing on (sports) neuropsychology. I am interested in contact sports and their impact on neuropsychological health. I am also concerned with the impact of intersections (e.g. race, gender, class) on one’s self-perception as an athlete. I don’t have a full grasp on what I want to do yet, but I do see myself working for organizations like the NFL and WNBA.

Fun Fact

In 2024, as part of the Voices of Ursinus, we sang the National Anthem at a Phillies game (and we won!)

What I love about writing

For me, writing is one of the most creative outlets one can use to articulate their emotions. It doesn’t have to be pretty; it doesn’t have to be perfect; and not everyone has to see it. What is important is that you acknowledge yourself.
