The Bonner program has been a transformative experience, shaping who I am and aspire to become. My trip to Westmoreland, Jamaica, to serve at Salem Primary School was a highlight.

Over four days, I joined a team of 17 fellow scholars to paint classrooms and help build homes for families in the community. I connected deeply with the students at Salem Primary. Their stories of everyday life and their awe at our presence from America touched my heart. As I said goodbye on the last day of providing service at Salem, I received heartfelt notes from some of the students. Those notes, filled with thanks and appreciation, reaffirmed the profound impact of community service and the unique value of the Bonner program.
