The Hidden Opponent

The Hidden Opponent is a national non-profit that is focused on breaking the stigma, educating, supporting and advocating for those who struggle with mental health. We are focused on student-athlete mental health, but the club seeks to advocate and support everyone who may struggle. Our club puts on events such as destress times during finals, a share your story night, awareness games and an Out of the Darkness suicide prevention walk. All members of the campus community are welcome to engage at these activities and we hope to fight the hidden opponent together!

What We Do (from thehiddenopponent.com):

Advocate

We believe that all student-athletes should be able to speak openly about their mental healthexperiences without worrying about being judged or viewed as weak. Our platform helps
amplify the voices and needs of student-athletes.

Educate
We will bring light to the many issues and struggles that student-athletes face, raising
awareness to break the stigma of mental health in athletic culture. We hope to give athletic
programs, clubs, and society a different perspective on the student-athlete lifestyle.

Support
This community is a safe space for all student-athletes to feel heard, supported, and loved.
